Answers to frequently asked questions regarding Swinxs

Using Swinxs

• Nothing happens when I press the white button.

  Check if the batteries are charged. Connect Swinxs to the electricity supply using the USB cable and the charging plug. Charge the batteries for at least 1 minute. Try switching Swinxs on again.

  Is Swinxs still not working? Reset Swinxs by pressing the white and red buttons at the same time for 8 seconds. Wait 8 seconds before you switch Swinxs on again. When you reset Swinxs the games scores will not be deleted.

  Still no luck? Contact the retail outlet where you purchased Swinxs.

• Swinxs's volume is very low. How can I turn up the volume?
  Turn up Swinxs's volume by pressing the white button for a short time. There are three settings: low, normal and loud. Swinxs's speaker is located on the top, under the cover with holes. Make sure that this is never covered over.
• Swinxs is jammed and is not reacting, what can I do?
  Reset Swinxs by pressing the white and red button at the same time for eight seconds. Wait eight seconds before you switch Swinxs on again.
• Swinxs's batteries need recharging after less than one hour of uninterrupted use? What can be wrong?
  Fully charged batteries will provide you with two hours of uninterrupted play. When you charge Swinxs's batteries, make sure Swinxs is connected to the power supply for at least 12 hours to ensure the batteries are completely charged.
• Can I use Swinxs outdoors?
  Yes, you can. Take care to ensure that Swinxs does not get wet. Do not use Swinxs outdoors in bad weather or if there is a chance of rain or snow. Also take care that the area is safe. Ask your parents/guardians if Swinxs is placed in a safe place.
• I would like Swinxs to speak another language.

  If you want to change the language your Swinxs speaks, do the following:

  1. Make sure your Swinxs is turned on
  2. Press the white button to turn on Swinxs
  3. As soon as you hear a sound, press and hold the red button
  4. Release the red button until you hear the language selection. 
     

  Now you can select the language you want your Swinxs to speak. Swinxs will explain to you how to achieve this. Premise is that your Swinxs contains at least two languages. Otherwise you need to download additional languages via the website.

Games

• I'm not able to download games on my Swinxs.
  If you want to add new games to your Swinxs, then you need to connect to the Swinxs website. To do this, follow these simple steps:
  

  1. Turn on your Swinxs by pressing the white button for one second. You will hear the Swinxs start up.
  2. Connect your Swinxs to your computer using the supplied USB cable. The first time you do this, the SwinxsLink will automatically download software and install itself on your computer. If this doesn't happen (or it doesn't work correctly), then you can manually collect and install the SwinxsLink using this link: download SwinxsLink
  3. When the SwinxsLink has been successfully installed, you will see below on the right hand side of your tool bar (next to the clock) the SwinxsLink icon in the form of a Swinxs. This icon is green or grey. Green means that the Swinxs is successfully connected to the website via SwinxsLink.
  4. When the SwinxsLink icon is green, the website will open and your personal homepage will be displayed where you can add or remove games.
• I want to make my own games, is this possible?
  Yes, you can! Download the SwinxsSDK. All Swinxs games were developed using this kit.

XS-tags

• Some games can be played with more players. How can I get extra XS-tags?

  We have created 6 extra colors because up to 10 players can play at the same time. You can even play with XS-tags the same color.

  Extra XS-tags in packages of 3 in different colors, will soon be for sale on this website.
  

Computer

• Do I need a computer to play with Swinxs?

  You don't need a computer to play with Swinxs. An adapter is supplied to charge up the Swinxs.

  The computer, together with the website, is used to add extra games and languages to the Swinxs. And because scores are saved on the Swinxs and uploaded to your personal Swinxs page, you will also have an overview of the results when you connect Swinxs to your computer.

• Is the SwinxsLink available for an Apple computer?

  SwinxsLink is the application which your Swinxs needs to communicate with the www.swinxs.com web site. Via SwinxsLink you can download new games to your Swinxs.
  

  Unfortunately, SwinxsLink is not natively available for Mac OS X.

  As a work around, you could use Bootcamp or applications like Parallels and VMware to run Microsoft Windows applications like the SwinxsLink on your Mac.
